Automotives
In order to be lighter weight, more durable, less costly, Resins are nowadays used on an ever increasing scale for parts of Automotives. Outside the car, they are coating, fenders, headlights, doors, windows and many other components; Inside the car, they are dashboards, head panels, upholstery and much more.
The main components used in the automotive are polypropylene (PP), polyurethane (PUR) and thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU), polyvinyl chloride (PVC), styrenics, acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS), polycarbonate (PC), ABS/PC blends, polyamide (PA) and polybutylene terephthalate (PBT).
However, both the exterior and the interior are subject to extreme conditions of heat and light, therefore additives need to be added into, so as to be exceptionally stabilized & resistant.
Besides, Antioxidants are particularly important additives, because they prolong the life of oils, lubricants and fuels, both on the shelf and in use.
